A build-in-public expedition
One builder. $0 budget. AI tools only. A public expedition from $0 to $1,000 MRR.
Marcus — Head of AI, dad of two, building from Saigon — is building PracticeLoop, a micro-SaaS that gives you one small AI-guided practice rep a day for any skill, where your mistakes become your personal Skill Box of rules.
The mission succeeds when PracticeLoop reaches $1,000/month in recurring revenue — and holds it for 2 straight months.
Three walls stand between $0 and $1,000 MRR. They fall in order — attention first, then proof people will pay, then revenue itself. Here is exactly where the expedition stands today. Yes, the zeros are real.
The MVP gets built only when Walls Maria and Rose fall — no building on hope.
Set the goal with Cloud: build a micro-SaaS from $0 to at least $1,000 MRR (held 2 straight months), nested under the Financial Freedom goal. Chose PracticeLoop — daily AI practice reps for any skill, built on my own Hidden Potential practice system and Trace-to-Skill engine (traces → approved personal rules → Skill Box). Founding price $15/mo, so 67 subscribers hit the target. Payments parked: PayPal when the first charge is needed. Wrote the 14-day traction sprint pack: landing copy, 7 post scripts, Wizard-of-Oz beta protocol. Built the expedition tracker and made it public. Next: record Posts 1–2, build the waitlist landing page, invite beta users.
New journal entries are published here as the expedition advances — the wins and the flat days alike.
Every initiative and task worked on for this expedition, logged day by day under Mikasa's watch. Nothing hidden, including the boring parts.
This log is updated as the expedition advances — check back to watch the walls fall.
Courses teach. Reps build. PracticeLoop turns any skill into one small daily rep, guided by AI that learns from your mistakes.
